55 flash fiction friday #86: my son's new apartment

...on the third floor
"I really appreciate you two helping out. Sorry I got stuck with a 3rd floor apartment."

"Oh, it's okay... everything we do together is fun. Even moving furniture up three flights of stairs."

"You two are just too cute. I want to vomit."

"Yeah, ain't it great?"

"No, you don't understand. I want to vomit."

 Graciously hosted by G-Man.

Note: An actual conversation. My son the college boy did, in fact, move into a 3rd floor apartment on the hottest day he could have picked. And my absolutely awesome girlfriend did, in fact, make it fun. And he did actually say this... verbatim. Well the vomit part is verbatim anyway. But. This is not his apartment. No, his stairway wasn't this wide. Or air conditioned.
Stumble This!

Yeah, you two really do make me WANT to vomit sometimes. And for the record, I didn't exactly pick that day to move. If I'd moved in on the day I thought I was going to be moving in, then it would have been at least 15 degrees cooler outside. You can officially blame my apartment complex for starting the lease in the middle of the month, haha.

And yet I hear no "Thanks" here. :)

I'm ready for a January snowstorm, southern style: here today, gone tomorrow.

LOL it's neat you two are still going strong. You and your gf I mean. Not you and Vomit Boy, though maybe you are too.

He shall forever be known as 'Vomit Boy'. ForEVER.

He's one lucky college kid- three flights of stairs? That kinda heat? Even I'd opt out of THAT kind of climbing. Sheesh.

Cute. Is this the first year away from home? Somehow the shines through. I can see he is missed.

Three flights of stairs with no heat? I want to vomit just thinking about it. Great 55. Great girlfriend :)

Some people can vomit when they want to. It's your furniture - go ahead and vomit over it!

A good laugh.

Ha. No surprise here. He sounds like a typical college guy. "Cute" in a parent is always nauseating.

My brother and sister-in-law evoke the emotion from her kids. Let's face it, they evoke the same response from all of us. Even their FB pics are always of both of them.

Oh dear. That is not a good conversation, but it is awesome that your family is so good to one another.

It's amazing the things we do for our children!! 100 degree heat, that's above and beyond the call of duty!

Mine's about my son!

What a day to move!! And that furniture thing can really make matters worse!!! Add to it, a 100 degrees.. the result is quite obvious!!
Poor guy...

Too funny - that's how I knew I'd become a grownup, when neither we nor anyone we knew lived in a third floor walkup anymore.

She must be something pretty special to make even moving someone else's stuff fun :).

Here I am, better late than never!

LOL. I probably would have wanted to vomit too. :)
It takes a special kind of friend to be so unfailingly honest. Hee!

Love it!

My Friday 55 was posted here yesterday. I'm just now getting around to visiting everyone. :)
