Sepia Scenes #2: The Sound of Sepia
No, of course sepia doesn't actually make a sound... stay with me here. This is Morehead City, NC viewed across Bogue Sound from the Atlantic Beach side of the Causeway Bridge. Bogue Sound is one of the five major sounds separating the mainland from North Carolina's barrier islands (in this case, Emerald Isle). At low tide it's possible to walk through the sound for probably 200 yards and never be in water more than knee deep. Until you hit the channel that is, where the water gets very deep, very fast.

beautiful!
Here's my WW. Thanks!
I've seen that view many times.
Great effect.
Looks like a scene from an old postcard! Well done!
Looks beautiful from across the water. The sepia tones lets one focus on the shapes and contrasts rather than being distracted by colour.
I like the way you've kept the buildings tinted white. Very nice touch.
That water's only knee-deep?
Excellent editing job, Mojo. The contrast is excellent! :)
Lovely photo. Very old feeling. With the white buildings, the ( kinda) grey sky..you get the feeling of age.
Happy WW.
Oooooohhh! Beautiful!
The the mode this photo hits. Taken "today" by but shouts of the past.
Looks like a postcard. Great capture!
Good effect. I agree that it speaks of the past. Those whites, browns, and blacks give it a timeless quality.

It's a wonderful scene. Love how the subject matter of the town is so small, and the sea and sky so vast.
I like to wade in sound, bath in the decibles, drowned in the drone. Love you photo to.
Sepia is very effective on this photo! Good one. ;-)
Looks very nice! :)
Mine's HERE.Happy SS!~
I agree with Marlou - it looks like a postcard indeed. I like the tone of this - just enough sepia.
Nice job.
Fantastic scene and love the sepia tone!
that's a beautiful scene!!
photos conjur up sounds, songs ...
they have a voice
this reminds me of a box of postcards that my Grandmother used to have.
Very nice in sepia, too.
My sepia scene for this week is
here Hope you can stop by!
I have never been to the barrier islands. There are so many movies made using them, and one needs only look at a photo such as this to see why. Sepia is one of my favorite effects, you did a beautiful job here. :-)
