55 flash fiction friday #71: conversation for one - i

"The ones we love hurt us worst. Only they get close enough to do real damage. I know this -- it's why I don't fall in love.

Until I do.

Then it turns to shit. And I fix that hole in the wall because dammit, nobody's getting in again.

Until they do.

Lather. Rinse. Repeat."
M6Friday: 55FlashFiction Graciously hosted by G-Man.

For those of you who were around last week, a few people decided to play along with my Alternate Endings Party Game. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, the setup is here, and there's really no time limit. If you feel the muse strike, have a go at it and I'll post the link on the page where lives the setup. The offerings so far are choice and varied. I hope you enjoy them as much as I have.

You've written the original Hurt Locker, with this one. Painfully, poignantly rendered; photograph and verse- equally.

There are no words.

All I've got is this.

I am glad you Lather. Rinse. Repeat Mojo! Because if you didn't you would leave the wall permanently fixed & you could miss your 'PERFECT' love! I'm always the optimist!

Mhm, I decided a couple of years ago not to pursue anybody anymore, but they found me, just the same. With the same results.

I really like this. It's sad, but hopefully not permanent.

I'm so glad that the patch in the wall doesn't hold. After a whole load of shit, and many, many patches, mine held. It held for ten years, and then it didn't. And that was 26 years ago. I haven't given it a second thought since.

I can totally identify with it. friends hurt more than enemies, because enemies betrayal is quite expected, unlike that of a friend. Mine is up!

Pull up to my kitchen table, grab a coffee and lets explore why you have this pattern in relationships of high expectations and low success. My 55 is here

Very nice 55. I can totally relate to this. A sneaky thing, love is... :) And kinda wonderful too, at times.
Well done. Love/ Jo.

I like John's comment that we gather round a cup of joe and discuss this pattern of behavior. It's always fun to analyze other people's foibles.

This, Mojo, I like. A lot. The photo, the desperate emotions, all of it.

"I fix that hole in the wall because dammit, nobody's getting in again."

We once had a guy at work who punched a hole in the wall and then got promoted to supervisor.

Thanks for the thought-provoking 55.
(and I just watched Hurt Locker)
Mine's up!

Love does find us in the STRANGEST of places! That was how Mr. Shakira found me!
Sorry I am late, been busy with hospitals and Jasmine's treatments.

I read about Liquid and I say a prayer for her. You are a very special person yourself, Mojo. Know that all who knows you do appreciate you.
