Thematic Photographic 43: "Reflective" v.5.0 - 1967 Corvette Roadster
If there was ever a car that was a classic straight from the showroom, the Corvette would have to be it. I suppose being eminently impractical qualifies you for "instant classic" status. This particular car boasted the 350 bhp 327 CID small block V-8 that wasn't especially common in Vettes of this vintage. Most owners preferred the big block engines like the 427 in these cars. But in the "Turbo Fire" configuration like this one had (with larger valves and the Power Pack Heads) the free-revving 327 might have actually been quicker off the line due to the reduced weight. Not having quite so much forward weight bias probably aided in handling too since the car would have less tendency toward "understeer".

wow love this!!!!
Very nice...both the car and the shot! I see now how we were appreciating the same things this week :-)
It's a rolling sculpture. I've always been captivated by the early 'Vettes. Their lines are absolutely timeless. Even today, their form resonates. Just the way the lights play off the bumper is sheer aesthetic perfection. Nothing made today even comes close.
The Corvette is such a sweet car! Thanks for coming by my blog!
Ai-yi-yi! ... one of my fave cars!
*swoon* lol
