indie ink, ya coulda told me!

From the Better Late Than Never Desk, it seems Indie Ink slipped a shot of mine into the queue and forgot to tell me about it. And with the buzz of activity that's been going on lately (my apologies to those I have not caught up with... I'm trying, I swear!) I missed it in my reader. Turns out that II published a photo of mine entitled "Sundown Provision" (which you might have seen in Summer Stock #30 here back in early September) almost a week ago. And I just now found out. But this is always exciting stuff, so I had to share.

This is one of my favorite photos (of mine anyway) and I'm glad to see it getting a wider audience. It started out here as my first My World Tuesday of 2010, then for some reason languished in relative obscurity until picked it up in September. And today, rounding out the list of usual suspects, published it as their feature photo of the day. The work on display at Fine Art Photoblog is -- putting it mildly -- phenomenal and I'm deeply honored and humbled to be included there.

Guest Hosting Foodie Friday On The M104

Late-Breaking Development... Okay, it's not "late-breaking" so much as "I forgot I was guest posting for Foodie Friday at ". I sent my pal Daryl a recipe and some photos a couple of weeks ago and she told me they were gonna appear today... I just forgot. So. If you're interested in how I make stuffed french toast, head on over to Daryl's and read all about it! And if you're not interested in how I make stuffed french toast (and why not if you please?), you'll still find plenty of interesting stuff over there to amuse and amaze you.

Almost exactly a month ago (actually it was exactly a month ago) this shot of Topsail Island appeared here in a Summer Stock Sunday post. At the same time I submitted it to a few of my usual haunts for consideration and today published it as their feature photo of the day.

It seems to be my week for getting published at . This is the second time this week. This time, they chose one of my personal favorites which has also been featured on as well as a couple of . I think we have a winner. (Of course, you saw it here first because you're just cool like that.)

indie ink does it again!

Speaking of My World Tuesday, back around the first of the year -- the first MWT of 2010 in fact -- I posted
this gem taken at Topsail Island (Surf City, specifically) on New Year's Eve. Recently I came across it in the archives and liked it well enough to send it to . They must have liked it pretty well because today -- just a few days later -- they published it .

Another Feature on Fine Art Photoblog

Another shot that has been circulating widely is this one. It first appeared here as a Wordless Wednesday post. It's also been a featured work in a couple of different RedBubble Groups. Specifically (8.5.2010) and (8.20.2010). Around that same time, I submitted it to , and today they've published it as one of their feature photos of the day.

forgotten indie ink feature!

I had completely forgotten submitting this shot to , and it didn't help that when I did it, it didn't have a title yet. So last night when I got a note from the editors saying they were publishing my photo "Untitled", I couldn't remember what photo they meant. I'm glad they chose this one (which appeared originally here) as it's a personal favorite of mine. The editors at II are always looking for new material from emerging writers, artists and the like. another indie ink feature!

Unless you have a really good memory, you probably won't recall the Macro Monday post where this shot originally appeared. The response here was favorable, and I thought it was unique enough that I sent it to a while back and promptly forgot about it. But they didn't, and today they're featuring it on their site. This shot has been making the rounds. It first appeared here as a Thursday Challenge post. Based on the response it got here, I sent it to where the editors apparently liked it just as well as my own visitors because they published it on August 3. Around that same time I submitted it to , and today (after a technical glitch delayed it and others for a few days) they've published it as their feature photo of the day.

I'm at Indie Ink Today

You may remember this photo from a recent Thursday Challenge post. I got a lot of positive comments on the shot when I published it here, and it seems the editors at liked it too, because it's scheduled to appear there today. Today marks the third time I've been published on II, and every time it's a thrill. So if you have something you'd like to reach a wider audience, submit it to them. On Indie Ink

If you're not familiar with the site it's a site dedicated to emerging artists of all sorts. Most of the submissions are written works, but they also sometimes feature photography. And today, I'm stoked, I'm awed, I'm humbled and just stupid happy to say one of my shots has been selected to appear there. Go check it out, and while you're there take a look around at some of the awesome work that's getting discovered at II.

Breaking News: Distant Echoes (Finally) Released

Some of you already knew about this project, most of you probably didn't. But for the last couple of months I've been working on my first book. Yeah. A real live paper and ink type book. And I'm happy to report, that after 14 drafts and three proofs it is finally ready to be unleashed on an unsuspecting public. The cover image over there on the left will magically transport you to the (currently the only retail outlet available). If you want to find out more, I've set up a specifically for this book and (hopefully) the ones to follow it. It's been a longer than anticipated process, and one that's had its share of frustrations. But it's also had more than its share of ... "joy" is the only word I can think of. It's been quite a ride already, and it's really just beginning.
